Bishop Gregor has decided that the Diocesan Synod to be held this Saturday, in Kilmarnock, should be postponed due to the weather conditions. The outlook from BBC Weather for Saturday states:
It will be cold and windy with snow showers on Saturday, the showers perhaps becoming more persistent at times. There will be further snow showers on Saturday night and through Sunday.
Temperatures are not due to rise above freezing point, therefore our duty of care is not to put people at risk whilst travelling to and from Synod.
Bishop Gregor asks for clergy to contact local lay representatives with this information. Christine Hughes may be in the office on March 2nd, Friday, but this cannot be determined at the moment.
The Diocesan Synod will be arranged for a new date, and the Diocese will be informed, in due course.
