Small Groups

“Meeting at church on a Sunday is an important time to get together as a community, receive teaching and fellowship, and worship our God. However, sometimes Sundays can be so busy, and full of different faces, they pass by in a bit of a blur. Sometimes we crave something smaller and more intimate.

Small groups make up the fabric of the church. They are the place where the truest form of authentic biblical community can be fully expressed and worked out. Usually meeting midweek in groups of anything from two to ten, small groups are a chance to create deep friendships, pray and study God’s word in a way that is not possible on a Sunday. They are a place where training and equipping in spiritual gifts can be developed. They are a place where leadership gifts can be encouraged and emerge. They are units where we can engage more meaningfully in mission to those who surround us. Within these groups there is the chance to grow in relationship with God, get to know others and allow others to get to know you. Each group is intentionally different in flavour focussing on the Bible, on prayer or on discipleship itself. This caters for many needs and allows for a focus to make the most of the time together.

Do have a look at the groups below and if you are interested please contact the person who is responsible for that group.”

St Ninian’s Walking Group

The Group meets most Wednesdays and once a month on a Saturday. If you want to be kept informed contact Chris and Mary on ccheales@hotmail.com. It is an opportunity to make new friends and keep fit at the same time
> For a long time now we have felt that some people would like to join us for all the fun and fellowship we take for granted, but don’t feel fit enough to take part. With this in mind we hope to start a ‘walkaboutabit’ (a monthly local one mile challenge) that will come eventually under the Paths for All and Arthritis Care initiative ‘Stepping Out’. If you feel you could help with this project please let us know.
> Best wishes,
> Chris & MaryHello all
There will be no walk on Wednesday 29th March. Now that the clocks have changed and, hopefully, the weather too, we plan to finish off the last of the WHW training walks on Saturday 1st April with a walk in the Muirkirk area. We plan to go by car ( meet at St Ninian’s, Maryborough Road at 9am) and go to Kames, Muirkirk from where the walk takes us over Wardlaw hill and on towards Cumnock. The walk will be mostly on track but uphill, boggy and on rough ground in places. The walk will also be longer than normal (10 miles+). With absolutely no coffee shops, this walk is not for the faint hearted but will be a fitting conclusion to the training walks before the WHW starts later in April. Everybody is welcome to join us but please bring a pack lunch and good walking boots. No dogs please. Hope to see you there.
Best wishes,
Chris & MaryChris & Mary
We are suggesting that there should be a cancellation method for the walks should the
weather forecast be terrible for the following day. Can we ask that you check
your e-mails after 8pm the day before any walk where we will post a cancellation
or any change of plans. Alternatively you could phone to check on 07954812932Best wishes
