Online worship for Maundy Thursday

Holy Week worship continues online with The Rt Rev Ian Paton & the Rev Canon Dr Carrie Applegarth celebrating a Eucharist for Maundy Thursday from their home in Perth.

The broadcast will be available from 6pm on Thursday (9 April), on both YouTube and Facebook. The liturgy is available to download here. In response to queries about spiritual communion at home, the College of Bishops has issued the following guidance on the SEC website.

After the broadcast, video and audio files of the service will be made available to download from the Scottish Episcopal Church website.

Other broadcasts scheduled for Holy Week are:

  • Good Friday, 2.30pm: Bishop Anne Dyer leads a Passion Narrative and the Veneration of the Cross.
  • Holy Saturday, 8.30pm: The Easter Vigil is led by the Primus, the Most Rev Mark Strange, from his home in Arpafeelie.
  • Easter Sunday, 11am: The Rt Rev Ian Paton and the Rev Canon Dr Carrie Applegath will celebrate the Easter Eucharist from within St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth (no-one else will be present).
