Online Worship from the Primus, the Provincial Young People and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry

For the ninth Sunday after Pentecost the Most Rev Mark Strange celebrates the Eucharist from Arpafeelie.

The Primus is joined from across Scotland by young members of the Scottish Episcopal Church, and from the United States of America by Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church.

The Provincial Eucharist this week takes place on the Sunday when the Primus would have been returning from the Lambeth Conference, and when the Young People and Leaders would have been arriving at Glenalmond College for their annual youth camp.

Because of the pandemic these two important moments in the provincial life of our Church cannot happen, but today through worship we join with the Young People and with the Anglican Communion. Young people from the senior house group at the camp will lead us through the Ministry of the Word and Presiding Bishop Michael will lead us in our Intercessions.

Worship Leaders: Toby Benton-Evans (Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway), David Coom (Edinburgh Diocese), Zara Hobbs (United Diocese of Glasgow & Galloway), Mia Shanks (Diocese of St. Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane), Martha Spence (United Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness) and Eleanor Tofield (Chair: Scottish Episcopal Church – Provincial Youth Committee, Diocese of Glasgow & Galloway)

Celebrant: The Most Rev Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church

Intercessor: The Most Rev Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church

Singers & Musicians: James Gardner (Diocese of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane), Alexander MacLaren (Diocese of Edinburgh), Nicole Grant (Diocese of Brechin) and the Rev Canon Oliver Brewer-Lennon (Diocese of Glasgow & Galloway).

With grateful thanks to Ley-Anne Forsyth and the Rev Canon Oliver Brewer-Lennon, Provincial Youth leaders.

And you can join the service from 11am at:

In addition to the online resources, there is a telephone service to allow those who do not have internet access to listen to the service of worship by telephone. The facility is free of charge for anyone calling by landline or mobile phone from within the UK. It will be helpful if those who have online access to worship continue to use that method rather than using the telephone line, to avoid unnecessary additional cost incurred by the GSO, and we would also appreciate help in reaching non-internet users who are unable to see this information.

Anyone who would like full details of how to access the telephone line, in order to share them with someone who needs this service should email AidanS@scotland.anglican.org.

The broadcast will be available for all to access on YouTube and Facebook. Subtitles are available on both platforms, if selected by the user. Look for the CC icon at the bottom of the display screen on YouTube; on facebook, go to Settings, then Video, then select Always Show Captions.

The Scottish Episcopal Church website will also contain downloadable video and audio formats of the services, when these are ready.

We encourage people to distribute the video/audio recordings and the Liturgy widely within their own personal networks. In households with no internet or playback capacity at all, if people are simply given the opportunity to read the words of the Liturgy to themselves close to the appointed time, they will be praising God along with others in the Church.
