As previously announced, an Episcopal Synod will take place tomorrow 30 September 2021. It will start at 9:30am. The business of the Synod is to initiate the setting up of an independent mediation process to help the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney as a whole move forward from its current difficulties.

The meeting will take place virtually on Zoom. The beginning of the meeting will be live streamed from 9.30am.  The live stream will be available at this page tomorrow morning. However, it is expected that the Synod will exercise its right to meet in private. That is the first item of business on the agenda and if the Synod decides to continue its meeting in private the live stream will cease at that point. The outcome of the meeting is expected to be announced later in the day.

The Primus invites the Scottish Episcopal Church to join with the Bishops in holding the meeting of the Synod in prayer.
