Churches across Scotland offered prayers for the Queen on her Platinum Jubilee as Her Majesty marked 70 years on the throne.
Queen Elizabeth’s reign began when she was 25 years old, on 6 February 1952, following the death of her father, George VI. She is is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee
Scottish Episcopal churches were able to offer their own prayer for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, prepared by the Liturgy Committee. The prayer is for use throughout the Platinum Jubilee, with the official celebrations scheduled for June.
In a written message to the nation, Her Majesty said: “I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.”
She signed off with: “Your servant Elizabeth R.”
