St Augustine’s Dumbarton will be celebrating their 150th anniversary with a range of events starting this Sunday 27 August and running until Thursday 31 August.
All are welcome! Please share far and wide!
•Sunday 27 August at 11am – Patronal Festival Eucharist presided by Bishop Kevin: pipes, bells & smells, followed by festive lunch. (please contact St Augustine’s with dietary requirements in advance)
•Sunday 27 August at 7pm – Choral Evensong with the choir of St Michael and All Angels, Helensburgh.
•Tuesday 29 August at 7pm – An evening of Thanksgiving and Praise. Come and join folk from St Augustine’s and other churches in Dumbarton for a great evening of praise and worship.
•Wednesday 30 August at 1.30pm – Concert by the Every Voice Choir. The Every Voice Choir was set up by one of the local Alzheimer’s Scotland groups; members of the choir are local people with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, their families and friends. They make a wonderful noise and have appeared on TV, singing with members of the Scottish Ballet dancing.
•[SOLD OUT] Thursday 31 August from 3pm to 5pm – A Vintage Charles Rennie Mackintosh style Afternoon Tea. Mackintosh was married to Margaret Macdonald in St Augustine’s church and much of the afternoon tea will reflect the types of food eaten in a typical afternoon tea of that time. Expect finger sandwiches, cakes, and scones with clotted cream and jam. [THIS EVENT HAS BEEN SOLD OUT]
