Upcoming Lectures from the Scottish Episcopal Institute and the Church & Academy Seminar

The start of the academic year brings new opportunities to engage with lectures from the Scottish Episcopal Institute and the Church & Academy Seminar.

There will be no meeting of the Seminar during September, however your attention is drawn to the Inaugural Lecture of the Rev Dr Michael Hull as Pantonian Professor of Divinity, to be delivered in the oratory of St Mary’s Monastery, Kinnoull, on Saturday 30 September at 5pm. A recording will be posted on the Provincial and Scottish Episcopal Institute channels in the following week.

The annual SEI Lecture will be delivered on Thursday 26 October at 5pm. This year, the lecturer will be Professor Grant MacAskill, who occupies the Kirby Laing Chair of Exegesis at the University of Aberdeen. The venue will be Aberdeen University, and the lecture will be livestreamed; further details to follow.

On 30 November, Professor Hugh Goddard of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, University of Edinburgh, will speak on Anglican approaches to Christian-Muslim relations. Zoom details to follow.
