The Rt Rev Dr Nicholas Bundock, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev Audrey O’Brien Stewart as Priest-in-Charge of St Cyprian’s, Lenzie. Her licensing will take place in St Cyprian’s at 6pm on Tuesday, 5 August.
Audrey says, “I am looking forward to this new chapter in ministry with the people of God called to be St Cyprian’s in Lenzie. Having made our family home in Kirkintilloch over the past nine years, I can see how God is moving in the lives of local residents as well as the ways in which people are seeking connection. With their steady rhythm of prayer, welcoming community space, and faithful membership, I trust God has great things in store for St Cyprian’s, and I am thrilled to build towards a bright future together.”
Audrey returns to ministry in the Diocese, having served under Permission to Officiate while in secular employment.
Bishop Nick says, “I’m absolutely delighted that Audrey is stepping back into full-time ministry within the life of this Diocese. Audrey brings with her not only experience, creativity and pastoral depth, but also a strong sense of calling to serve God’s people in Lenzie and beyond.
“St Cyprian’s will find in Audrey a priest who listens well, leads gently, and loves deeply. I have every confidence that her ministry will be a blessing to the congregation, the people of Lenzie and the wider Diocese.
“Please hold Audrey and her family in your prayers as she begins this next chapter in her vocation.”
Audrey will continue to reside in her own house locally.
