Retirement of Christine Hughes, our Office Manager

Our Office Manager and Bishop’s PA, Mrs Christine Hughes, retires today, marking the end of an era at the Glasgow and Galloway Diocesan Office. For over 20 years, she has often been the first port of call for clergy and laity alike, managing myriad requests and responsibilities.

Christine joined the Diocese on 6 July 2004. During her tenure she worked with four diocesan bishops, and supported many aspects of the unseen work of the office, her hospitality arrangements and care during Diocesan Synods remaining a special memory for many.

While her absence in the Centre will be sorely felt, the Diocesan Office staff and Bishop Nick wish her well in retirement, with great luck on the bowling green and a well deserved rest with Rab, her husband, and Bella, their dog.

You can reach Christine on her usual office email address, should you wish to share your gratitude or stay in touch, the email will remain active for a while.
