Since arriving in May, Bishop Nick has been conscious of the wide geographical spread of the diocese, the contrast between very urban and very rural contexts within it, and the sheer volume of work, particularly around vacancies, property matters, and statutory responsibilities.
In light of this, the Bishop’s Core Group has asked the Rev Dr Elizabeth Breakey (St Ninian’s, Portpatrick and St John’s, Stranraer) to take on the role of Rural Dean from the beginning of August, offering pastoral and administrative support to churches in the south of the Diocese (the thirteen charges in the Galloway Region plus St Oswald’s, Maybole).
Should you wish to contact Elizabeth with matters related to her new role, you can reach her at ruraldean@glasgow.anglican.org
An Appointment Service will take place on Wednesday, 13 August at 6.30pm in St Margaret’s, New Galloway (Kenbridge Road, New Galloway, DG7 3RP). All are welcome!
Livestreaming information will be available shortly.
