The Primus will speak to the Church of Scotland General Assembly this afternoon, to address the proposed Saint Andrew Declaration between the Scottish Episcopal Church and the Church of Scotland.
The Most Rev Mark Strange, Bishop of Moray, Ross & Caithness, has been invited to speak to the Assembly as agreement is sought on formal recognition of the way that the two Churches have shared together in ministry to the whole of Scotland for many years, and continue to work together.
The Saint Andrew Declaration outlines a series of acknowledgments and commitments between the Churches, and is the result of conversations that have taken place in the Our Common Calling Working Group.
The Declaration is the centrepiece of the Report of the Ecumenical Relations Committee, which is scheduled within the late afternoon schedule (4pm to 6pm).
The General Assembly is being held online, with a gathering of core participants in the Assembly Hall, Edinburgh. The Primus will be present in the Hall for his address.
