Online Provincial Worship for Holy Week 2023

Over the coming days, there will be a series of broadcast worship services for Holy Week, led by members of the College of Bishops.

For Maundy Thursday, the Rt Rev Kevin Pearson, Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway, leads a Choral Eucharist with footwashing at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow. Music in the service is from the St Mary’s Cathedral Choir under Director of Music Frikki Walker.

On Good Friday, the Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Most Rev Mark Strange, leads a service at 2pm from St Ninian’s, Glenurquhart, accompanied by the Rt Rev Robert Hardwick, resident priest at St Ninian’s.  The service includes the passion narrative.

And on Easter Sunday the Rt Rev Dr John Armes, Bishop of Edinburgh, leads a Celebration of the Eucharist from St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh. The service will begin at 11am, and includes Mozart’s ‘Coronation Mass’, and the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’, sung by the Cathedral Choir.
