Online Worship in Holy Week 2022

Maundy Thursday – 14 April

The Very Rev Sarah Murray leads a Celebration of the Eucharist on Maundy Thursday, followed by a Vigil.

The Service will begin at 7pm, and the online Vigil will start afterwards, lasting through the night. All are invited to participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. Throughout the Vigil, Scripture will be read, culminating in the Gospel of the Watch at Midnight.

Good Friday – 15 April

On Good Friday, a video service of the Stations of the Cross will be available throughout the day.  The service was recorded in 2021 by the Rt Rev Anne Dyer, Bishop of Aberdeen & Orkney.

Easter Sunday – 17 April

The Rt Rev Dr John Armes, Bishop of Edinburgh, leads a Celebration of the Eucharist from St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh.

The service will be streamed live from St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, with music from the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Master of the Music, Duncan Ferguson. The Mass setting will be ‘Missa Brevis’ by Kodály, the anthem is Handel’ ‘Hallelujah’, and the postlude is Widor’s ‘Toccata’. The organist is Assistant Master of the Music, Imogen Morgan.
